“Kindness begins with the understanding that we all struggle.”

- Charles Glassman

Our life is like a book with many chapters being written but you are the one holding the pen. Sometimes those chapters are long, they seem never ending, and some chapters close only to be reopened and reread time and time again.
What if your story mattered? What if your narrative could change? What if you could pick up the pen and shift your narrative to write a new chapter or a whole new book?

Jana would love to walk along beside you as she listens to your story, giving you a space where your story matters, a space that is full of compassion, empathy, acceptance, and unconditional positive regard. A place where “your story
matters.”

Life experience, personal trauma, and Jana’s personal story has given her a foundation to help walk along beside you no matter what challenges you may be facing on your journey.

Part of Jana’s story consists of working with children and families. Play therapy is a specialty she incorporates with children, teens, and families. What is play therapy? Play therapy is a systematic and therapeutic approach to intentional play to walk along beside children in their natural language of play. Gary Landreth stated, “Toys are children’s words and play is their language.” By allowing a child to be in a safe area expressing in their safe language, Jana can help them process trauma, grief, environmental changes, or work through behavioral problems by building emotional intelligence emotional language to help process.

Other areas Jana is experienced in is working with Neurodiversity. Being neurodiverse consists of Autism, ADHD, OCD, Dyslexia, and learning disabilities. Learning how to cope, socialize, or needing an advocate in your environment is what Jana would love to help you navigate. Whether you are a child or an adult struggling in these areas, you do not have to be. The brain is amazing and learning to work with the brain and not against the brain is an area of specialty for Jana.

Jana was born and raised near the Nashville, TN area and loves to spend time with her husband and two children. She loves baking, reading, shopping and being outdoors with her family
