Jo’s Vision

Jo’s Vision

Since starting her work in community mental health in 2005, Joanna has been driven by a vision to create a different kind of healing space. After years of working in cold, sterile environments, she opened her group practice in 2010 with a single goal: to curate a space that feels warm, inviting, and deeply restorative—a place you genuinely look forward to visiting.

Housed in 100+ year-old homes, our practice feels more like stepping into your grandparents’ comforting living room than a clinical office. Imagine curling up with a cup of tea in a quiet, cozy corner, or arriving early to settle in with your laptop in one of our libraries or serene spaces. These environments were thoughtfully designed to inspire trust, connection, and the kind of safety that allows true healing to begin.

With nearly two decades of experience guiding individuals, couples, and families, Joanna and her team are committed to providing expert, compassionate care in an atmosphere where you can exhale. At Matters of the Heart Counseling, we don’t just offer therapy—we offer a sanctuary for growth, reflection, and hope.

Welcome to a place where healing feels like home.
