Addiction & Codependency

We often describe addiction as the need to lean ON something when we are incapable of leaning INTO something that needs attention and healing. When that happens, addiction is often a byproduct of the temporary comfort we feel when we can avoid whatever is hurting us internally.

Often, where there is addiction, there is also codependency. Codependency is a persons need to help and be needed, doing whatever they can to please and support their partner, often with a disguised mindset of "Only, if they are ok, then can I be ok."

Healing the PART requires Healing the WHOLE.
The whole system requires healing in order to get to a place where there is connection, openness, and healthy boundaries or limits by knowing what you are and are not capable of.
