Counseling for Men

Men today navigate a world filled with pressure—pressure to provide, to succeed, to stay in control. But beneath the surface, many struggle with behavioral/sexual addictions, relationship challenges, social isolation, anger, emotional intelligence, or sexual health concerns. Whether you’re dealing with communication difficulties, involuntary celibacy, or the weight of expectations, you don’t have to face it alone.

These counselors specialize in working with men, offering expert support in areas like emotional intelligence and regulation, personal growth, and breaking unhealthy cycles. With advanced training in the unique struggles men experience, we provide a space where you can explore challenges, develop healthier relationships, and build a life that aligns with your values.

You’re not alone—real change starts here.

Richie enjoys walking through life with his fellow brothers through the mess that try to stumble you up and throw you down. His natural charisma and depth of self knowledge is amazing for helping to slow you down and help you look in at the parts of you left in knots that you don't know how to untangle. With trauma training, and other skills, he helps equip you with tools to get your life straightened out and back on the road to health!

Part of my passion for working with men in counseling comes from being raised with brothers, male best friends, and a father who didn't always have access to their own "emotional language."

Women, statistically speak more than 13,000 words a day more than men. This tends to put men at a significant disadvantage, leaving them often defaulting to the emotional "withdrawer" stance in the relationship. As a therapist, I strive to show-up safe & neutral, bringing a rare, feminine strength (with a dose of humor as an Enneagram 8wing 7 *the Maverick*) to the counseling relationship that I've heard reported "feels safe to open-up" and draw out the different parts of men's masculinity, without judgement.

With a balance of empathy and challenge, I teach and equip men to show up as more effective communicators, leading yourself with strength and security, laying aside unseen traits of toxic masculinity taught from society and previous generations.

Healing is the cornerstone of Alex’s work. Whether it’s social media addiction, grief, or religious trauma, he will hold space for your story and help you find practical solutions.

For those who need support in the LBGTQIA+ community, Alex has a heart to walk alongside you in your journey for identity and love.

He also has a passion for those dealing with codependency; he wants to help you find your voice and develop healthy boundaries.

Paul is a husband and father of 4 and knows the struggles of the push to provide, be present and involved, and maintain a healthy sense of self. He works with men in many different areas of need, distress or addiction. Having worked in the Addictions world for many years, Paul understands when the complexities of men reaching out for other things when they don't know what to reach in for and work on.

As a counselor who works with men and first responders, Lauren creates a safe and non-judgmental environment. Clients quickly become comfortable sharing their experiences and emotions. Active listening and compassion are key components of this process while establishing trust within the counseling relationship.

Lauren has found that men often face unique societal pressures to suppress their emotions and maintain a stoic demeanor. This makes it difficult to open up and seek help. This is especially true for first responders, frequently exposed to traumatic events that can affect their mental health.

Ultimately, recognizing that each human being requires a nuanced and individualized approach makes it possible to help individuals overcome their struggles and achieve greater well-being.

Lillian has a passion for providing men with the emotional support that can sometimes be lacking in their lives. Many men are faced with the same challenges as women (disordered eating/sexual trauma/high pressures to provide), but they don’t have the same levels of support and feel that they have to face these challenges alone.

Lillian’s goal is to give you the space to explore your own emotions, and
build a support system around you that encourages this growth and your
own needs.

Joanna Dixon, LMFT

I help men overcome emotional communication barriers, drawing on my upbringing among brothers, male friends, and a father who struggled with emotional expression. While women typically use significantly more words daily than men, this often leaves men disadvantaged, defaulting to emotional withdrawal in relationships.

As a therapist, I provide a safe, neutral environment with feminine strength (and humor as an Enneagram 8w7 "Maverick") that clients describe as a safe space to open up. I help men explore different aspects of their masculinity without judgment, balancing empathy with challenge to develop more effective communication skills, authentic leadership, and freedom from toxic masculine traits inherited from society and previous generations.

Lauren Naish, MMFT

Lauren creates a safe, non-judgmental environment where men and first responders can comfortably express their emotions despite societal pressures toward stoicism. As a counselor, she emphasizes active listening and compassion to build trust in the therapeutic relationship. This approach is particularly valuable for first responders who frequently encounter traumatic situations affecting their mental health. By recognizing that each person requires an individualized approach, Lauren helps clients work through their unique challenges and achieve greater overall well-being.

Lillian’s goal is to give you the space to explore your own emotions, and
build a support system around you that encourages this growth and your
own needs.
