“You do not have to be good. You do not have to walk on your knees for a hundred miles through the desert repenting. You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.” - Mary Oliver

Kaylyn has a rich background in mental health care with over 6 years of experience in community services, developmental disabilities, and private practice. Her orientation to therapy is centered around radical self-acceptance and compassion, using a Person-Centered model and a variety of techniques from Mindfulness-based Cognitive therapy, Dialectical Behavioral therapy, and Internal Family Systems.

Therapy is NOT one-size-fits-all. Kaylyn believes that each client requires their own individualized approach, based on their unique personality, experiences, and preferences. She considers each client to be the expert of their own life, and her goal is to empower you to create the changes you want to see. With adaptability, empathy, warmth, and gentle challenging stuck processes in order to find creative solutions that work for YOU or your child. The research is clear that the most important element of effective counseling is the RELATIONSHIP, so building authentic connection and trust are Kaylyn’s first priority.

Kaylyn has experience and training in working with individuals across the lifespan: children, teenagers, adults, and their families. She is allied to all gender and sexual identities and has many years of experience supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community.

When Kaylyn isn’t counseling others, you can find her taking long walks with her dog, hitting the gym, watching a show in her favorite sweats, or perusing local antique stores.

“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”

- Mary Oliver (again)
